The Common Chronic Conditions

Although there are many chronic conditions, some of them are common. The majority of the children in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and other cities suffer from the following health conditions.

Overweight/Obesity

Obesity is a prevalent chronic condition in Australia, posing a significant public health issue. It has adverse effects on children's health, well-being, academic achievements, and future risk of heart disease. Reducing the rate of overweight and obesity requires concrete actions from both the government and parents. Empowering children with knowledge about their food choices and guiding them towards healthier options is vital for promoting their overall well-being and fostering a healthier generation. We help children to make the right lifestyle choices from an early age.

Vision Disorder and Hearing Loss

Nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism affect a large number of children and teenagers. To rectify these problems, most people wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. Children and teenagers who use glasses or contacts should visit an eye doctor at least once a year to have their eyesight checked for any changes. Hearing loss is another issue that hinders a child's ability to develop speech, language, and social skills. Regular hearing screenings, timely access to hearing aids, and speech therapy can support a child's speech, language, , ensuring they reach their full potential in communication.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a long-term ailment that usually begins in childhood. Affected youngsters have trouble understanding social situations, behaving socially, and communicating. Lack of or no eye contact, unsocial play and detachment from others, and a lack of interest in other people's attempts at communication are some of the signs of this disease. Physical affection is avoided by children with this health issue, and their body language is improper.

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a long-term health problem that results in poor concentration and impulse control. It can affect a child's learning and social ties, as well as the functioning of the family. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to concentrate, forgetting instructions, hopping from one activity to the next without finishing them, emotional instability, restlessness, and so on.

Asthma

Asthma is a common respiratory disorder marked by chronic inflammation of the airways. It causes wheezing, shortness of breath, coughing, and chest discomfort due to extensive constriction of the airways. Virus infections, exposure to particular allergens, irritants, exercise, and other chemical or nutritional additives are all known to trigger asthma.

Anxiety Disorder

It is another chronic condition that many Australian youngsters suffer from. Anxiety symptoms can be varied and might linger for a short period or a long time, depending on the cause. Health experts such as general practitioners (GPs), psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, mental health nurses, and social workers must closely monitor them. It helps to alleviate worry, stress, and dread.
