Patrina Caldwell is a Senior Staff Specialist at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and an Associate Professor for the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Sydney. She heads the multidisciplinary continence service at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and is involved conducting research in the field of paediatric continence and in developing a state wide service for continence that begins in childhood. Patrina completed a PhD in children’s participation in randomised controlled trials. She is on the steering committee of Star Child Health, an international group involved in developing standards/guidance for conducting paediatric trials and is also the convenor for their Standards Development Group on “Recruitment and Consent”. She is also on the steering committee of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network’s the Young People’s Research Advisory Committee, which aims to seek input from children and young people about research conducting with young people. Her other areas of interest include eHealth and the teaching of evidence based medicine in low resourced settings.
